Following on from the highly successful asset management event held in 2017, NEPIC is thrilled to announce its return and a host of new speakers and topics showcasing cross-sector best practice to drive forward improvements in productivity, reliability and safety.
Taking place on Wednesday 21 November at Sedgefield’s Hardwick Hall, we will demonstrate transferable lessons from across the manufacturing spectrum, that Production and Engineering Managers can apply to their own operations, as well as showcasing the broad range of asset management capabilities that are available within the region.
The event will also be supported by an asset management and manufacturing improvement focused exhibition which will include demonstrations of industrial asset management tools and techniques.

This year’s agenda will see:
•    How best to ensure that the people in the front line behave in a way which maximises success and minimises failure. Tony Geraghty of Worley Parsons will draw on his experience in helping clients improve performance over the past 25 years.
•    The latest insights from Siemens around digital asset management and in particular, the digitalisation of a brownfield plant and how this links to the government’s Made Smarter review that sets out how UK manufacturing can be transformed through the adoption of industrial digital technology.
•    Frazer-Nash explain the challenges of life extension of ageing assets and the benefits of approaching the problem at three different levels – critical components; understand sensitivities and policies and governance. They will also discuss how a combination of operational data, targeted inspection data and engineering analysis can be used to deliver added value to operators of industrial process equipment at all levels from component up to the whole enterprise.
•    Engineering giant, ABB, will discuss the unpredictable failure modes of rotating equipment that can account for up to 40% of an operator’s total deferred annual production, and how using relevant engineering expertise, remote conditioning monitoring and digitisation techniques can optimise machine health and life.
•    Global technology engineering firm, TWI, will talk about the many recent advancements in NDT techniques and their applications that have transformed the traditional offerings of ultrasonic, X ray, dye penetrant and magnetic particle.
•    Newcastle-based Rosen will showcase maintenance planning and execution of best practice and how system capabilities can be exploited to deliver productivity and cost goals and also meet the needs of stakeholders.
•    Billingham firm, Phusion IM, will present on ‘Taking the Chew’ out of maintenance. In 1974 the first bar code was used to purchase a pack of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Gum.  44 years later the concept of quick and easy access to information is the same, however, the technology has advanced with the advent of QR codes, RFID and NFC. Phusion will demonstrate real-life case studies and applications of how the adoption of intelligent tagging and mobile, cloud-based technology can enhance productivity and accuracy in maintenance management.
•    Tracerco, part of global chemical giant Johnson Matthey, will demonstrate the benefits of data mining and the organisation of data that is captured and utilisies intelligent analytics to create value for plant operators.
•    Turner & Townsend will describe how projects can be set up and executed successfully using case studies to illustrate best practice in this area. They will also demonstrate how to optimise information flow and knowledge maintenance on projects and programmes.
•    And winners of the 2018 NEPIC manufacturing award, Aesica Pharmaceuticals, will explain how their Cramlington facility has undergone a significant programme of change that focused on engaging with people at all levels within the organisation to drive step change improvement in SHE, quality, yield, uptime and reliability performance.
