CATCH Networks

CATCH Member Networks

CATCH Network Groups have been active for over 20 years. Bringing together groups of individuals from industrial organisations, across the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Humber regions and beyond.  People are connected through CATCH membership and share common interests, information, goals, and activities that are then facilitated and led by a strong industrial chair.  Each network group runs its own programme, schedule and mode of participation.

Our Networks and Industrial Leaders

Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, Belonging Network

The Chair: Nina Stobart, Phillips 66

I had the pleasure and challenge of setting up our Phillips 66 Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging (ID&B) Network in 2019 and In the 5 years since we have also started a Women’s Network, Veterans Network and Mental Health First Aider network and launched the Humber Allyship programme, supporting our workforce on our I&D journey.

Open to all CATCH Members

The Network: Promoting diversity means total acceptance of, and full inclusion of people from all walks of life, and a workplace and culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Inclusion and diversity quite simply translate to respect

The CATCH EDI&B network is showing that we realise the challenges of the region and are working in partnership and by doing so can make a real difference as our vision states. We will be part of a progressive and equitable region where businesses support a fully inclusive and diverse workforce in an environment where they feel seen, heard, supported and valued.

Why wouldn’t anyone want to be part of that, it’s not just the right thing to do, it also makes total business sense.

Environmental Managers

The Chair: Martin Jones, Yara

Hi, I’m Martin Jones, a senior HESQ leader with over 25 years’ of experience gained on various high-hazard COMAH sites, I’m a graduate Chemist, with NEBOSH Diploma, IEMA Environmental Management, and a qualified Radiation Protection Supervisor.

The Network: I am very honoured to chair this group as having been involved in various HESQ roles within the chemical industry Iam very passionate about the synergistic relationship of industry and the environment.  This group has been part of the journey to seeing industry improve its direction and strategy in respecting and enhancing the environment.  The networking group allows a platform for sharing best practice, allowing the regulators and industry representatives to understand each others drivers and challenges and work together on upcoming agendas

Major Hazards

The Chair:  Dan Rawdin, SSE Thermal

I am Dan Rawdin and am the Risk Manager for SSE Thermal. I have worked in management and support roles across the SSE Thermal business over the past 13 years. I have extensive Process Safety Engineering and Risk Management experience gained from working in the Power, Steel and Chemicals industries. This has involved chairing Hazard studies/ Process Hazard Reviews, Enterprise Risk Management, writing Technical Safety cases and providing independent technical input to key projects , including those associated with transition to Hydrogen and Low Carbon technology.

I also sit on a number of important pan-industry groups including the Energy Institute, (currently sitting on and having chaired the Power Systems committee and sitting on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee and its associated vice chairs group). I have been an active member and supporter of the Humber Bank Major Hazards Network for the last 15 years and now have the privilege of chairing this important group.

Open to Core Members only.  Supply Chain members welcome to suggest presentation materials

The Network

The Humber has possibly the largest concentration of Major Hazards sites in the UK. With this comes a wealth of Process Safety experience and over the years the Humber Major Hazards network has proven its worth in bringing this experience together for sharing and collaboration. As we accelerate the Regions Net Zero plan and both repurposing of existing assets and development of new first of a kind low carbon and hydrogen technologies are required I believe this group will be vital in helping us ensure continued safe process operations throughout our region.

Human Factors Network

Our Chair: Chris Marron, Yara

Hi I’m Chris. I’ve worked in the chemical industry for 20+ years. Starting in labs as an analyst in the Ineos chlorine production plant on Teesside, I then moved into R&D and worked on various projects developing new technologies and pilot plants. Alongside this I have also worked for the Benefit Fraud dept, which really is as interesting and challenging as it sounds. I moved into competence assessment, working with apprentices and overseas workers upgrading their skills and knowledge before moving to Yara developing competencies and helping address human factors.

Open to Core Members only.  Supply Chain members welcome to suggest presentation materials

The Network: The human factors network is a fantastic group. Humans operate our facilities, whichever industry we are in there is human interaction somewhere In the timeline, therefore it is vital that we understand the factors which influence their performance and proactively look to reduce instances of human error. Our Human Factors network is always willing to learn, challenge and drive our industries towards improved ways of working and the fact that they’re an amazingly friendly and welcoming group makes it a pleasure to work with them.

HR Leaders Network

Our Chair: Darren Bambridge, Tronox

I’m the European HR Director for Tronox, a global titanium dioxide producer, based on the Humber Bank.  I joined the company in 2014 and now lead the HR functions across all of the Tronox European sites.  I have over 25 years experience in HR and I’m passionate about ensuring that my teams are instrumental in securing both Tronox, and the chemical industry’s place in a brilliant, sustainable future.

I’m originally from Kent, however I’ve lived in the Humber region with my family for the past 20 years.

Open to Core Members only.  Supply Chain members welcome to suggest presentation materials

The Network:  A fantastic platform for the HR Managers in the region to share best practices, ideas and experiences.  It also enables the group to collaborate for the greater good of the region and the industry, taking a coordinated approach to important initiatives such as STEM engagement in schools.  One of the best things about being part of this forum is that I always learn something new at every meeting

Hydrogen and Decarbonisation Networks

Our Chair: Guest Chair or sponsor companies

Both the CATCH Hydrogen and the CATCH Industrial Decarbonisation Networks are guest chaired by influential people in the industry.

Open to all. In-person places reserved for CATCH members.
