Mark joined the CATCH team in May 2021 as the Training Delivery Manager having previously spent 14 years in several key roles at Tronox (formerly Cristal, Millennium, Laportes). Prior to this Mark completed 24 years’ service in the RAF working in locations both in the UK and globally. The experience he has gained from his time in the RAF and Tronox has given him an extensive knowledge of general mechanical engineering coupled with specific knowledge of working on a Top Tier COMAH chemical site.
Mark has spent a great deal of time over the past 4 years working closely with Scunthorpe University Technical College (ENLUTC) in designing their course curriculum with a greater understanding of industry. This relationship developed further as Mark has spent the last 2 years seconded to ENLUTC as an Engineering Lecturer teaching hands on engineering skills to Years 9 to 13. Mark remains fully supportive of ENLUTC and committed to developing the pipeline of the next generation of engineers and has recently taken up a position on the ENLUTC board.
Mark arrives at a very exciting time for CATCH and the Humber region and with his extensive experience in training and competency Mark is keen to further establish CATCH as a world class training facility.
Mark is a keen sportsman and can be found running around Grimsby and cycling in the Lincolnshire Wolds. An active member of Grimsby Triathlon Club Mark trains 6 days a week and has completed triathlons from shorter sprint distances through to Ironman.
