James joined the CATCH team in May 2017 after spending 7 years at HETA as part of the Senior Leadership Team through the role of Business Development & Marketing Manager helping to grow the business across the Humber region and beyond.
As Head of CATCH Skills, James is responsible for developing CATCH Skills as a training provider and working with our strategic partners to develop our skills offer to ensure CATCH are at the forefront of training provision. James has a strong background in apprenticeships & competency based training for industry in addition to working with employers across a variety of industries across the Humber region.
With a vision of CATCH being the skills hub for the Engineering, Process, Chemical and Renewable sector, James is keen to have an employer demand driven approach to ensure CATCH meets all the training and competency requirements for members. James is also keen to develop CATCH further as both a National and International brand and believes employers if the right opportunities can be identified as the business grows.
Hull born and bred, James is passionate about championing the Humber Region and ensuring we have the skills required to meet the demand of industry for years to come. James is also a season ticket holder for Hull Kingston Rovers, although that doesn’t mean much to anyone on the South Bank of the Humber!
In addition to his role, James is also on the board of trustees of the Yorkshire & Humber Cooperative Learning Trust (YHCLT), a Multi Academy Trust of Hull based schools.
